Federal changes in Race/Ethnicity reporting have resulted in a change in the way student groups are displayed on the school-, district-, and state-level Report Cards. Groups displayed will be: White; Black; Hispanic; American Indian; Asian; Pacific Islander; Two or More Races (when two or more race/ethnicities are selected with the exception of Hispanic which overrides all other races/ethnicities); Economically Disadvantaged; Limited English Proficient; and Students with Disabilities. On the High Student Performance section of the school- and district-level Report Cards, Geometry will not appear on the 2010-11 NC School Report Cards. These tests were eliminated by the NC Legislature. School safety data will appear rounded to two decimal points instead of to the whole number, as in previous years. This will impact the Safe, Orderly & Caring Schools tab of the school- and district-level Report Cards. National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) and Teacher Working Conditions (TWC) data are only available every other year, and neither will be available for the 2010-11 Report Cards. On the school- and district-level Report Cards, it is important to note that on the Average Class Size indicator, there are no class size limits for grades 4-12 for the 2009-10 and 2010-11 school years due to legislation enacted by the NC Legislature in July, 2009. For these years, school administrative units shall have the maximum flexibility to use allotted teacher positions to maximize student achievement in these grades. Previous class size limits do not apply to grades 4-12 for the 2010-11 school year. School- and charter-school level pages will now list “Principal” and “Prior Principal.” The Prior Principal will the last individual listed in the EDDIE system as of June 30 of the reporting year (in this case June 2011). |
